I am a lawyer practising before the International Court of Justice (ICJ) and international criminal tribunals. I was admitted to the List of Counsel before the International Criminal Court (ICC) in 2005 and to the List of Counsel before the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in 2019. I have been a member of the Bar of the City of La Plata, Argentina, since 1990. Throughout my legal career, I have focused on the areas of public international law, international dispute settlement, international criminal law, and international human rights law.

Besides, I am an Associate Professor of Public International Law at Maastricht University, where I have been teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses in public international law since 2009. Here, I also taught International Dispute Settlement, International Humanitarian Law, and International Criminal Law. From 2017 to 2024, I served as Programme Director of the Master in Globalisation and Law. Since joining Maastricht University in 2009, I have been committed to advancing legal education and fostering a deep understanding of public international law among my students.

Prior to my time at Maastricht University, I served as an Assistant Professor of Public International Law at Erasmus University Rotterdam from 2006 to 2009, where I taught courses in public international law, international dispute settlement, the law of international organisations, and international criminal law. Before that, I was a full-time Research Fellow at the Amsterdam Centre for International Law (University of Amsterdam) from 2002 to 2005, during which time I drafted my PhD.

My professional journey began in La Plata, Argentina, where I earned my law degree (‘Abogado’) from the National University of La Plata in 1990, followed by a master’s degree in International Relations from the same institution in 2002. It was in La Plata where my passion for law and justice was first ignited.
